ROAD MAP to commercialization

In any product, commercialization journey should go through a process with multiple steps to improve its reliability and and cost. There are multiple testing steps on the way. A simplified diagram shows these different steps and activities to be done at each step.

The diagram shows different key aspects of the NPI journey to convert a working prototype to a bulk manufacturing product

Valley of death of new innovation is where 95% of new innovations fail. This is due to the lack of proper planning, lack of idea of the whole journey, lack of funding and developing the product to wrong market / consumer base / wrong time

This is where all the circuit and systems errors are rectified and fixed. After the end of this phase, no circuit and systems design error should be present

This is where the molding and casing design is finished, all the testings passed, all designs and appearances approved, all  certifications received

This is where all the bulk manufacturing related works are done including setting up bulk production line, QC procedures and software, raw material level testing, logistic and fulfillment center arrangement
